VJ Soccru, or really Sofi Häkkinen, is a visual artist and Recover Laboratory’s other artistic director. Häkkinen actively performs VJ gigs at various events, parties, festivals and artworks. With her life video projections Häkkinen has created, for example, party visuals that engage in dialogue with the music and lights, as well as created atmospheres for immersive works. The locations where her works have been displayed range from wastewater treatment plants to parking halls, to clubs, caves and even swimming pools.

In addition to Recover Laboratory’s works, Häkkinen’s VJ work has been seen at among many others, Kaiku club (as a resident VJ) in Helsinki, DTM night club in Helsinki, Mitäs Mitäs Mitäs festival in Urjala Finland, at Tampere-talo with Finnish rap artist Pyhimys, Helsinki City Theater’s Valokeilassa Koillinen project, Finnish tv series “Penkinlämmittäjät”, in live concert streams of one of the biggest Finnish pop-rock singers Maija Vilkkumaa, and at various artists’ concerts (e.g. Mechanic Membrane, feelswithcaps, Aki Himanen & Aleksi Kinnunen Duo).
