RecLab’s operations are led by a highly educated, interdisciplinary trio: contemporary artist Miradonna Sirkka, visual artist Sofi Häkkinen, and producer & experience designer Inna Huttunen. The trio has directed, produced and managed the group’s activities together since 2016.
Artistic director, performance and circus artist (MA)
Miradonna Sirkka is a contemporary circus and performance artist who specialises in participatory, site-specific works combining various art fields, both as a director and performer. Sirkka founded Recover Laboratory in 2014. She graduated from Turku University of Applied Sciences as a circus artist and from Aalto University as a Master of Arts. Sirkka’s works have been seen in Finland, e.g. in Helsinki Festival, the largest multi-arts festival in Finland, and abroad, for example in Tokyo and Copenhagen.
Artistic director, visual artist (MA)
Visual artist Sofi Häkkinen is super versatile in arts: she works in many different mediums, crossing the boundaries by working as a sculptor as well as a director, video artist, VJ, set designer, artistic designer and curator etc. Häkkinen has been the visual-artist-in-chief and artistic director of Recover Laboratory and the co-director with Sirkka since 2015. Her art has been exhibited in both Finland and abroad. Häkkinen graduated as a visual artist from Tampere University of Applied Sciences and from Aalto University as a Master of Arts. She also studied e.g. at the University of Lapland and the UDK University of the Arts in Berlin.
Executive producer, experience designer (MM)
Inna Huttunen is an experience designer and producer specializing in meaningful and multidisciplinary experiences. Huttunen has an international Master’s degree in Art Management (HEC Montreal, SDA Bocconi, SMU Dallas) and an degree in Experience Management (Haaga-Helia). Huttunen has been e.g. creating the escape game industry in Finland, at the frontline of InsideOut Escape Games. In addition, she has led several Finnish pioneer productions regarding games and experiences, ranging from escape games to gigantic labyrinths and new technological experiments. Along with Recover Laboratory, Huttunen designs and produces immersive and game-like performances, with e.g. The Center of Everything and the interactive virtual reality show Love Simulation EVE.
