Snägäri is a surreal hamburger bar. The work is a multi-art performance and installation that mimics the style of a traditional vertical kiosk. Performance artist Miradonna Sirkka leads the audience to Snägäri, and asks them for their orders. You think you’re ordering a burger, but the conversation turns to you. Soon you’re already filling in a strange questionnaire that will eventually determine the contents of your burger. Based on a form and an order, artist Sofi Häkkinen will create a kitschy burger sculpture in front of your eyes, which you can take home with you – in a take-away box, of course.

Snägäri, created by Recover Laboratory’s artistic directors, was commissioned for New Performance Turku Biennale in Turku in 2023. It was first performed in the autumn in the caves under the Turku wastewater treatment plant.

The work is a work that can be transformed into many different spaces and events. The surrealistic kiosk can be set up both indoors and outdoors, and can serve as a base for performers touring the festival area, for example.

In addition to NPTB, the work has been performed at Provinssirock, Espoo Culture House and Kyröfest.
