AVEC is a collection of independent works, with Recover Laboratory as the main producer or partner.
MORE covers all other activities of the group, including commissioned work, residencies, artistic planning and studio activities.

Recover Laboratory’s CORE is the experimental core of the group. CORE works reflect the present moment, offering the viewer an alternative reality in all its kitsch, humour and absurdity.
CORE covers the artistic practice of the group’s artistic directors Miradonna Sirka and Sofi Häkkinen, as well as their collaborations with other artists.
“At the heart of what we do is honesty about the motives and materials of the works, freedom of intuition and queer thinking. Dramatic gestures and clichés emerge from the mundane with a sharp camp spirit, highlighting the simultaneous existence of futility and meaningfulness.
We deal with everything from the mundane to the most difficult issues in human life. Using humour, love, horror and sentimentality as tools, we break the norms of being on stage and seek to renew the performer-viewer relationship.”
Recover Laboratory’s AVEC is a collection of independent works of which Recover Laboratory is a partner or producer. The repertoire includes selected contemporary circus works, stage works, site-specific works, children’s works, and commissioned works by RecLab member artists. AVEC’s work also includes ensembles and events with other cultural operators.
